To start off... I'm 16, 5'11, and I weight 120 (at best). My whole family is very thin, so I know that it's more of a genetic thing, my mom was really skinny when she was a teen, and my dad was probably even skinnier than me. I never stay without eating, in fact, I eat a lot. Many people say that the best thing to do is exercise regularly, but I'm afraid I'll lose even more weight. I'm a very good runner, and I enjoy running, but people have also told me to stop running cuz that's what people do to LOSE weight. Should I just stop worrying, because this is how I'm built and there's not much that I can do? Any Advice plz??!! thanks!

Oh my, I wish I had your body and metabolism. I would eat a little less to weaken your metabolism and then eat big proportions during those fewer eating times. Then you will have a metabolism like mine. I have one chocolate milk shake and I gain 2 pounds.
I'm a junkie and I love fatty foods.

- Avoid bad fats, and sugar in general if you can.

- Eat lots of protein. In fact, try to eat 1 gram of protein for each pound you weigh, every day.

- Eat at least 3000 calories a day.

- Drinks LOTS of water.

- Get a minimum of 8 hours of sleep every night. You need sleep to gain weight!

- Buy weight/muscle gain supplements, I recommend "Muscle Milk" by Cytosport. It tastes amazing.

- Eat 6 times a day. Smaller meals, spread out during the day is more natural for your body. This is a necessity.

You should start lifting weights. I suggest buying a book that shows you how to lift weights, being a "hardgainer". Don't work out too often on the same muscle. If you work everyday on the same muscle, you can actually get weaker. Lift 3 times a week. If you want, you CAN work out everyday if you work on different muscle groups every other day, Example: legs monday, biceps tuesday, abdominals wednesday... and so on. Also, don't quit excercising, but don't focus on cardio either.

Also, try not to obsess on how much you are gaining every week. Don't get discouraged. It takes time to gain weight. Keep a committment. It is normal to gain 1-2 lbs a week. After a while, you will stop gaining weight for a week or two. At this time, you need to boost your calorie intake (+500 calories) and eat more protien, everyday. Each time your weight gain stops like this, that is what you will need to do.

Yeah, I would stop worrying. If your build healthy, enjoy your abilities. If you're really looking to add some weight, I hope that you will do it the right way through exercise and strength training and not just letting your body mold to the lazy attitudes that some people tend to have about health.

Be comfortable with who and how you are.

If you are built to run, by all means run..
