You can prevent it by seeing what triggers it (such as foods or clothing, soaps, perfumes) and avoid them. I suggest Aveeno Hydrocortisone cream. It works like a DREAM! It truly relieves and heals the rashy skin bumps (as long as you dont keep scratching it).

One thing I will say first is that tea tree oil has a rare side effect of causing eczema. A doctor told me that using Melaleuca products was the most likely cause of my eczema. Melaleuca oil = tea tree oil. Now I know many say tea tree oil cures eczema but for me it was the opposite. I have very bad eczema on my hands and the side of one foot.
I DO agree with what was said about the Aveeno products. I love to soak in a hot tub of the Soothing Bath Treatment and use Aveeno body wash as a hand cleanser. Avoid anything with fragrance in it and avoid scrubbing your skin if you have sensitive/very dry skin.
Believe it or not, I use Mary Kay's Extra Emollient Night Cream to moisturise and stop the itching; adding a bit of water makes it easier to apply. At night I apply it to my hands and wear cotton gloves when I sleep; also on my foot while wearing a sock.
My eczema is made worse by stress...then I get horrible breakouts. Also, I have to wear fingerless gloves during the day to protect my hands from friction while driving etc. not to mention to just cover the eczema up.
As it has been said, it's different with everybody and I wish you much luck in finding something that works for you.

I have dealt with this too my entire life. It has gotten better as I get older, but keeping the skin moist is the best thing to do. I have found that when bathing or showering, do not use hot water or spend alot of time inthe water. Use mild soap such as Dove body wash. Strong smelling soaps and body washes can irritate skin more. Don't completely dry off with the towel and put a lightweight lotion such as Swiss Ives Whipped Silk over entire body or areas of dryness before skin dries. If skin still feels tight and itchy, add cortisone.
Gold Bond Anti-itch cream also works for dry patches.
I was told to use Lubriderm or Eucerin lotion but both are too thick and my skin itches more when covered with thick and oily lotions or creams. I have also found that a little baby oil in the bath water helps soften too, when not dealing with eczema flare-ups.

my sis n bro both got it, so i noe alot about this topic. really it depends on how serious it is. my sisters is very extreme: on her neck, legs, arms, face, around the lips, and much more, but my bro only has it on his joints: insides of elbows, knees. my sis (the more extreme) some works for a while, then after a while, her body develops an imunity to it, and it no longer works. however, someone whose is mild, one thing could satisfy the itch for a VERY long time, maybe even years. some things that have worked for my sister are AVEENO products: body wash, soap, etc. also, CETAPHIL, the soap my sister uses now, although i suggest AVEENO the most. also, there are some creams like hydrocortisone that may involve some doctor advice. Of course, excema varies per person, so to get the best results, ask a doctor (a dermatologist). I suggest that u stay natural, certain chemicals WILL agravate your excema, and unfortunately its impossible to know if it will unless u try n take the risk. Be careful, though, because even tho natural is the best, if u have allergies, u MUST examine the ingredients carefully. I once took an all natural product, and i soon discovered i had an allergic reaction to one of the ingredients when i broke out in a mild, but annoying, case of the hives. this may sound extreme, but the results from a non natural product can be much worse. it makes since, bcuz wen u listen to commercials on the tv, even the most BASIC products have a HUGE list of side effects: becuase of the potentially dangerous chemicals/ingredients in them. AVEENO has relatively mild side effects, and they are uncommon: rash, bumps, etc, and of course if this occurs, u should stop using it. i end this by saying, if u havnt already gained an immunity to aveeno, i can be 97% sure that u will be pleased by the results. (i would say 100%, but everyone is different u noe).

The best thing I've found for eczema is skin brushing. I know - sounds really weird, but it WORKS. Just make sure it's a natural bristled brush - you can search "skin brushing" and find a lot of information. I live in a horribly dry climate, and when I brush regularly, I don't even need lotion.
Good luck!

Eczema patients can avoid scratchy fibers for softer ones like bamboo, cotton, or silk, which are gentler on the skin. Opting to buy organic fibers can also be a wise, healthy, and eco-friendly alternative. Learn here https://tr.im/4kxvh
