What year did the Pioneer logo change??

Question

I know it used to be in bold block letters with a small symbol in front of it, but at some point it changed to italic letters. Does anyone know what year this was?

From my research, it appears that Pioneer changed its logo in '98.

I think it was the very early 1990s when the logo changed. My guess is that it was probably about the same time frame that home theater got started.
