That depends on a lot of things. By that I compare a kid brought up on a farm to a kid brought up in the city. I was driving tractors cars, trucks, combines whatever on the farm from a real young age. Say six. By the time I was 10 I was a better driver on the roads than most people after driver ed. today. I have been driving for 60 years now and have never even as much as put a dent in a fender. I do agree whole hartedly that the majority of 16 year olds today are an accident waiting to happen. Just not mature enough and watched to many TV shows.

I don't think a 14 year old should drive a car alone or even have a license. I wish all kids could grow up in the country like I did and have lots of room to practice with mom or dad on some back street dirt road. I actually started driving in cow pastures when I was only 9 but...it isn't recommended.

To have a license and drive alone, I think people should be over 18 and have required drivers education with documented hours behind a wheel.

We don't have that in the U.S. but I think every one with a license should have had at least 25 hours of driving time in the last 6 months to qualify for a drivers license...everyone...not just kids.

Don't you think its funny that a person who has never driven in the last 10 years can get cheaper car insurance than a person who drives thousands of miles in a month? The person who drives more has more opportunities for an accident but doesn't and the person who never drives will probably have one his first week out. Experience should count for something.

With all the electronic devices on cars these days, there should be a way for a person to automatically log their hours behind the wheel and it should be standard equipment!

I think 14 year old kids should be practicing in parking lots or country roads but I don't think they should ever, under any circumstances be alone on a city street with an automobile.

There's two times and places that I can think of where a 14 year old should drive a car. In an empty parking lot with a parent in the passenger seat, or if you have an empty lot to drive an old junker around without hitting anything. I think the more time you get behind the wheel at a younger age, the better you will be able to handle a car when you're older and driving won't be such a big deal.

there is not any way a 14 3 hundred and sixty 5 days previous could be allowed to rigidity in any respect through fact they are not mature sufficient. And the challenge with youthful young human beings is they over estimate their adulthood, so they think of they have so lots greater advantageous than they have. i'm beneficial a 14 3 hundred and sixty 5 days previous could learn how to rigidity beneficial, yet they have not have been given any company being in a highway with different drivers. below no circumstances might it incredibly is criminal for a 14 to rigidity on my own, maximum states mandate you are going to be sixteen and six months to try this whilst being 15 and 9 months to get a learner's enable that enables you to rigidity with an grownup in the motor vehicle, in the passenger's seat in any respect cases. you have never drove a motor vehicle, and that i will make it easier to be conscious of not dashing isn't undemanding, and employing on interior sight roads is greater good to do than employing on a expressway. and now and back it incredibly is not significant sturdy a driving force you're becasue somebody can hit you. i'm a super driving force yet I have been given into an accident and my motor vehicle flipped two times, through fact i substitute into turning at a easy and a few fool ran the crimson easy. once you're so lots greater mature than maximum young human beings you may 14 3 hundred and sixty 5 days olds could never be on a highway employing, and that 14 3 hundred and sixty 5 days olds have not got the adulthood to deal with a motor vehicle. Being mature is recognizing your immaturity. Your strategies bodily hasn't devolved sufficient so you might have the adulthood of an very virtually 17 3 hundred and sixty 5 days previous. high-quality attempt, yet back, No 14 3 hundred and sixty 5 days previous could be able to rigidity, regardless of an grownup in the motor vehicle with them

no. like 95% of 16 year olds are too immature and unskilled to drive, let alone 14 year olds which are 10 times worse.

hell, i dont think anyone who goes through the standard driving school should get a liscence. I think people should be forced to go through some kind of a race school/high speed driving course. It makes you a 100x better driver, and makes accidents much more infrequent.

LOL LOL thats a good one.

we want to move the driving age to 18 from 16 cause even 16 yr olds can't handle a car nor the roads of today.

driving a car IS NOT a video game nor anything like it. being a master of a video game does not make one a master of driving a real car.

Honestly, I think driving age should be raised to 18, at 16 you need a parent's signature on a school absentee note yet you can pilot a 3000lbs plus piece of machine!! What's the rush anyway, get your BMX out and have some fun.

difficult question....I know of a few 14 year olds I would let drive my truck, as well as people in their twenties and thirties I wouldn't let drive my truck. It's not fair to put all fourteen year olds in the same category but I think there are more that shouldn't drive than the other way around.
