unfortunatley, gm owns saab. Prior to that, Saabs were made by saab. Now some saabs are sharing the same platform as GM cars, such as the Saab 9-7 is just a Chevy Trailblazer in disguise. Also the saab cars that are made by saab are about 50% gm parts and designed by GM. So if you want a swedish made saab, you have to get one made prior to when GM bought Saab. Or buy a Volvo, or a BMW if you have the money.

General Moters owns a large percent, if not all of saab. However I am pretty sure that saab makes and designs for themselves.

Lucky for SAAB they are owned by GM as if not they would have gone broke. The cars are designed and made in Sweden by the countries works not all of them are Swedish

My 86 was made in Finland actually. GM makes them now. The Saab SUV is nothing but a rebadged Trailblazer.
