For a guy I have longer hair. I wash it every morning but I don't always condition it. I towel dry at first, and then I blow dry it, pretty much every morning. Most times I'll also use a flat iron to iron out any wavy or curly parts.

I know my hair wasn't like this in the summer - winter has to be contributing somehow.

What are the best salon products to get, or are there different, but easy, techniques I can utilize?

If you are willing to wear it wavy or curly, there is a really easy way to style it and it won't be frizzy at all. I have very curly hair and on the advice of my stylist, I started doing this about a year ago with very good results. First, instead of shampooing, I wash it with Pureology conditioner daily. I wash it with shampoo about only once every 1-2 weeks. Seriously, this works and your hair will not be greasy. Even if you are not ready to give up the shampoo, it is critical for people with curly or frizzy hair to condition it every time because you need moisture locked in your hair to get rid of the frizz.

Then I use a gel for curly hair combined with a little leave-in conditioner and let it air dry. It gets curly but I have absolutely no frizz at all. And it is not at all greasy, but soft and fluffy and curly. Using this method, this is the best my hair has ever looked. Also, be sure and find somebody who is really skilled at cutting curly hair and get regular cuts so it doesn't end up looking like a bush. There is a lot that they can do to shape it so it looks right, but they have to know what they are doing. Keeping it longer will stretch the curl so it's not as bushy. Mine has been much better since I grew it out longer.

A little buildup in curly hair is good- it keeps it moisturizes- so drop the dang shampoo! If time is an issue- wash it 2-3 times per week and condition all other days. If you have oily hair- you can always shampoo the roots and condition the ends using around the same amount of time.

If you don't mind spending a little money for results- go to ouidad. Its not unreasonable- but the deep treatments are really important for control and thats where it gets expensive. If you dont live in a metropolis- try their site www.ouidad.com.

if you want drug store brand- try the SAMY line with the deep conditioner and curlz gel.

General technique- split your hair into four parts when applying conditioner or gel. at least 3-4 times per week leave in a deep conditioner- it doesn't matter if it says leave in- its just good to help build your hair so it has more weight to it and won't frizz. Then- use a normal layer of gel over that - and STOP TOUCHING IT! The more you touch the more you mess with the curl structure and ruin it causing frizz.

Even adding one of these steps should help the hair from frizzing...

Depending on what kind of hair you have it may be better not to wash it everyday. The only kind of hair that should be washed daily is oily hair, but if you have wavy, or curly hair it is better to wash it every other day. Also if you choose to blow dry it everyday try finding a Ion hair dryer, it can dry your hair in less than half the time and make your hair shinier. Using any heat protect styling lotions, gels, etc. are also some of the best options to use. And ceramic flat irons are also the best one's to own, even the ones by Conair are a good steal.

Some good salon products are Paul Mitchell, Redken, Logics(if you color your hair).

For Drugstores John Frieda, PANTENE PRO-V are the best! And Infusium 23 for damaged hair.

Easiest way...just work with your natural hair. If it's wavy use a diffuser and work with the wavy not against it. Something you may enjoy is Beach Wave by John Frieda it adds that "imperfect" wave into your hair for a care-free, just spent a day at the beach look. Good Luck! Hope I helped!

Don't wash everyday. I do mine every other and it realy makes a difference. (no it doesn't look dirty) I rinse it on the off days. I have very curly hair and I've found some watered down conditioner (50/50) left on it helps keep the frizzies at bay. Don't use products that contain alcohol either they tend to dry hair even more.

My hair dresser even uses conditioner as a leave in.

Mine is always worse in the winter. It's drier with the heaters going.

Go to as beauty supply shop and buy some Roux "Porosity Control". It is great. You just towel dry hair after shampooing, place a quarter sized dab of this product in your palm, rub hands together, and massage product into scalp and throughout your damp hair. Style as usual. Does not leave hair oily, but, very relaxed and manageable.

Towel drying can actually make your hair frizzier. Squeeze out your hair into the shower. Pantene Pro-V restoritives frizz control is what I use, and it works really well for me. Blow drying is ok, but dont straighten everyday, it will "kill" your hair.

well, the straightener and hairdryer can make your hair frizzy...the heat dries it out and in the winter there is no moisture in the air, so your hair will get frizzy. try settling down with all the heat products. but there is one thing i know that it sounds gross, but washing your hair with mayo can actually take away the frizziness!! just make sure u wash your hair with normal shampoo afterwards so u don't smell bad!
