People fear what they do not understand or cannot control. Edward Said referred to this as "othering". So, for example, many fundamentalist Christians on here make Islam the "Other" and ascribe everything that is negative onto that other. The Other can be demonized, even if that involves hypocrisy or ignoring the facts. Immigrants are also othered, etc.

Read a little history, there's no "nowadays" about it at all! It is, and always has been, "human nature". It may even be an evolutionary adaptation to the fact that like-minded groups of individuals who fool each other into believing that they are "right" are more likely to produce members willing to make greater sacrifices for the "good of the group"...

well if people is able to choose good and bad, of course they would choose good. but some things u just cant help it and thats hate. now-a-days, those stereotyping, racism, and discrimination dunt come from the evil things that happened in old age history, they come from bad things that happened presently. stereotyping, racism, and discrimination is just a way of feeling. its life.

It's all about understanding. If you understand someone you will accept their point of view even if you don't agree with it. That's why I've spent the last 5 years researching as many varied faiths and spiritual practises as I can. I was sick of feeling that I judged others faiths on false perceptions given me by ignorant and intolerant people.
Now I have a number of friends from different faiths and we can openly discuss our beliefs without argument as we all know we respect each other even when we don't agree.
"Do you see one light or many?"
"The one and the many are the same"
We are one people, we just have to realise it.

Immaturity. All bad things derive from our immaturity. Immaturity prompts us to condemn other people for the bad things on earth in which there are inevitably our contributions.
We have to learn and to train ourselves to be mature, to seek out the true causes of our problems and tackle them with amicable consultation, sincere cooperation and great effort.

Humans are not only evil (Romans 3:23) but selfish and lazy. It's that lazy part that hangs us up here. Humans would rather bring others down and do the work of bringing themselves up. Yes, every racist and bigot is, in a word, lazy.

Depends on who it is... some are merely ignorant, others are arrogant with bloated self-concepts that makes them think their ideas and beliefs are the only "correct" ones. Such is the stuff of this life.
