I was looking at my teeth and i notice some black spots on my teeth. They're behind my front teeth and there's very little on the back upper teeth. Is it really a cavity? i brushed my teeth and some of it seems to be kind of disappearing.

You best bet is to see the dentist. If it is more than a month or two before you next six month checkup call and get in sooner. If your 6 month checkup is in the next month or so then just wait and let the dentist check then.

Honey: I would brush with baking soda and see if that takes care of it. Cavities on front teeth are quite rare, specially on the back unless you are a junk food addict, specially chocolate and sticky sweets. If the baking soda doesn't do the trick I would highly advice that you go to see a dentist. Your smile is worth the trouble.
Cheers,
Mr. M on "cavity."

You should brush 2x or 3x a day and floss once or twice.

Start taken better care of your teeth. I haven't had 1 cavity ever and i'm going on 22. Go see your dentist, you're probably due for a cleaning.

It's possible that it's staining. Sometimes there are certain things in your diet that will cause your teeth to discolour - but they aren't cavities. If they're not really noticeable, not causing you pain and aren't visible to other people then I'd recommend keeping them really clean with a good toothpaste until your next check up. If you notice any change in them (other than them going away) or if your next check up isn't for a while then get in sooner. Hope it helps!

Most likely it is a cavity, But normally decay does not come off when you brush your teeth.Your best bet is to go to the dentist. If not than i suggest going to the drug store and buying the tool that can scrape the decay off the tooth before it gets in bedded any farther in the tooth.

The black spots could be cavities... like the black could be food stuck in the cavities... but I think that's unlikely. I don't think any of us can tell you for sure, though... do they hurt at all? It's quite hard for an untrained eye to see cavities, and you seem to see several, so I doubt they are. Go see your dentist and he/she can tell you for sure.

Coffee, tea or smoke stains; sounds like tar/tar+plaque build up
You should go for a cleaning+polishing
and maybe cut down on those addictions if you haven't already done so. Regular brushing should help :)
