I know that it's cheaper to do it at home, but you will be MUCH happier if you have a professional do it for you! A heavy highlight works best at controlling the appearence of newgrowth, but some blonde color can be effective too. Talk it over with a stylist and don't feel you HAVE to commit to a service that day. Tell him/her you want a consultation.
