I am trying to redeem my AA miles for a vacation package, or Hotel stay ...have you ever do that? any comments? Or should I use the miles for a ticket?

I personally think you get the most value for your miles in redeeming for air travel. The amount of money you pay for a vacation package or hotel stay vs. how many miles it takes to redeem for them is usually insane. Very poor exchange rate.

Use it for a tkt., there will be no off-season, on-season hassles, no lessser-facility package, etc.
