There are also before and after pics of dogs treated w/the home remedies. I can tell you from very recent experience that if you dont get this under control that he will scratch himself into a bloody mess!!Good luck and feel free to e-mail me on this!

He could have mange or a fungal infection or some other skin condition and it will likely get worse and possibly become very serious if not diagnosed and properly treated, so your best bet is to go to a Vet. Not even a Vet will diagnose your dog without seeing him. They may need to do a skin scrape to rule out mange.

This is becoming a "hot spot". Most vets would treat this by clipping and cleaning the spot, give a short-acting steroid shot, and a week of antibiotics. You can do the clipping and cleaning at home, but that won't stop the scratching, but it will get you until tomorrow when you can get a vet to check it out.

You should take him to the vet, could be a skin infection or ringworm. If you cant, try washing it with an antibacterial handsoap and apply a thin layer of triple antibiotic cream.

your dog may have mange or ringworm and or allergies,,, a trip to the vet for a skin scraping test will let you know what your next step is.... try changing dog food to a lamb and rice mixture containing no wheat, corn or byproducts...

This is a job for the vet. There are a number of conditions that can cause this problem, and all of them require veterinary care.

Talk to your local vet and see what would be causing him to do such things. You could also ask them what would be a good way to solve this problem. That or you could talk to a pet shop personell and see what they think about it.

Have you had the vet check on your dog? Sounds like it could possibly be ringworm, lice, mites...
