Why do we get Brainfreezes?

When something very cold touches the roof of your mouth it can set off a nerve reaction that causes blood vessels in your brain to swell making a quick "headache".

I THINK it is because your body diverts too much blood to your stomach to warm up recently ingested food that is cold.. if you immediately drink a little warm water.. it will stop
