What's going on with him?

Question

I like this guy at my school and I'm not sure what he's thinking...
His best friend sits in front of me in 6th hour and I needed to make sure the guy I like knows I like him & so I asked and the best friend guy about it & he said he didn't know and that he'd ask him for me, so I let him. He asked the guy I like about it after school, and the next day in 6th hour I asked the best friend guy (through a note) if the guy I like said anything about me liking him, and the best friend guy said no, and that all he did was smile.
What do you think that means? Could he be embarrased, flattered, or secretly disgusted? The guy I like ignored me till recently, and then he suddenly started to be nice to me, saying hello all the time, smiling, and waving. At first I thought maybe he was only making fun of me, but it doesn't seem like it anymore. I just need to know what you think is happening (with the guy I like only smiling when told that I like him).

*Oh yeah, and some people seem to have a problem understanding this...
I really have trouble talking to him because it always feels so awkward for me... and embarrasment really IS the worst that can happen, but I just worked so hard to get him to at least say hi to me, and I really don't want to throw that all away. He doesn't treat me like other girls, and it seems like he just pitys me and wants to make me feel better about myself...and p.s.: there's NO WAY his BFF might like me too...we've known each other way too long and I'm most likely not his type...

Well i have some serious advice for you and it is to take your courage in hand and risk embarrassment(you can't die from it though it can feel that way) and ask him outright. Try to do it when hes alone, but if you can't get him on his own ,ask in front of his friends if you could speak to him privately. Your friends will look up to you more for having the courage and who knows it could start a trend.Remember he is as embarrassed as you and his friends will stir him to embarrass him and you, don't give them the satisfaction.Don't pass notes through another person as they may well have another adgenda. I promise you he will probably admire you having the guts to ask him even if he says no. Just try, goodluck.

Of course he likes you. Smiling means happy. If he wasn't interested, he would have said something like yuk, or no way. The fact that he is waving etc, are you blind? Maybe he secretly liked you too, and was just shy. You have the chance now, go for it. I would if I were you.

I think he's afraid to make the first move. He seems a bit shy like you but I could be wrong. You shouldn't use his BFF to relate to him that you like him. Its always best to see his reaction when you tell him. That way you know for sure how genuine his response is.

He might not of known the feelings he had for you, until you told him you liked him. He is crushing on you majorly. You need to chat him up, but let him make the moves. You made the first move, now the chess piece is in his court.
