I hate that "once saved always saved" teaching, because it can lead a lot of people to a false sense of security. Do not be so decieved by sin that you think you can live like the devil and still get into heaven.
You want scripture refrences to my comments fine:
Salvation is an ongoing process not a single event in time/space.
1cor.1:18 For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who ARE BEING SAVED it is the power of God. (NOTE THE PRESENT TENSE)
How about we look at the very foundation, upon which Christianity is built: 2 Tim. 2:19 Nevertheless, God's solid foundation stands firm, sealed with this inscription: "The Lord knows those who are his," and, "Everyone who confesses the name of the Lord MUST turn away from wickedness."
or how about the one that makes me quake in my boots: Matt.7:21 "Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but ONLY HE WHO DOES THE WILL OF MY FATHER WHO is in heaven.
Do NOT be decieved: 1 cor.6:9-10 Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders 10nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God..
Galatians 5:19-22 The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; 20idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions 21and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.
THE THREE VERSES ABOVE SHOULD MAKE IT PAINFULLY CLEAR WHEN YOU BECOME BORN AGAIN YOUR BEHAVIOR MUST CHANGE. FOR THOSE WHO THINK YOU CAN ACCEPT CHRIST FOR NOTHING MORE THAN FIRE INSURANCE HAVE BEEN DECEIVED BY SATAN. YOU MUST TURN FROM SIN.
Galatians 6:7
Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows

This is a point of much dispute within Christianity. There are those who advocate a "once saved, always saved" position, which is also known as Calvinism. A Scripture reference used by this group would be John 10:28, "I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand."
There are others who advocate a position that a Christian can become apostate. This is known as Arminianism. A Scripture reference they might use would be Hebrews 6:4, "For it is impossible to keep on restoring to repentance time and again people who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, who have become sharers of the Holy Spirit..."
There are Scriptures that seem to support both positions. When Christians look at a person who has strayed from the faith, one group might say, "He was never saved." The other group might say, "He became apostate."
The best thing is to avoid extremes in either position. Abide in Christ (John 15:5) and you won't have any concerns.

impossble, that is not true. God will chasten us because we are His children. No where does it say we lose our salvation. He says it would be worse for us to have been enlightened and then to sin again because then we are purposely going against God when we know better. Verses not having knowledge and sinning.
To the asker. There is a book called Eternal Security by Charles Stanley that is great for understanding what salvation is and what it is not. It's a great book. If you are truley repentant of your sin you are saved. People have good days or weeks of praying and bad times too. It takes a lot of time to go from being a Baby Christian to go to eating meat. The word! Keep praying about it. God will answer you.

I don't have to support my answer I know what I'm talking about. You didn't support your question. When you accept Jesus Christ as your personal savior are baptized by full submersion in the water of the lamb and are born again without sin. You can never be locked out of Heavens door again. Never. You can kill, rape, molest, anything your heart desires and you will always be shot straight to heaven in the rapture. That's the fact jack. Even though I am a stone Atheists . cant be kept out of heave even if I wont to because before I became an atheist I was a born again Christian so I'm just screwed. BB

Absolutely--If we just take the apostles Pauls comment of non-surety of being baptized and being in the "so-called" magic born again mode we would see in fact that any one can loose a hold on the so-called unbreakable bond, that religions tries to propagate!
(Philippians 3:12-16) 12 Not that I have already received it or am already made perfect, but I am pursuing to see if I may also lay hold on that for which I have also been laid hold on by Christ Jesus. 13 Brothers, I do not yet consider myself as having laid hold on [it]; but there is one thing about it: Forgetting the things behind and stretching forward to the things ahead, 14 I am pursuing down toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God by means of Christ Jesus. 15 Let us, then, as many of us as are mature, be of this mental attitude; and if YOU are mentally inclined otherwise in any respect, God will reveal the above [attitude] to YOU. 16 At any rate, to what extent we have made progress, let us go on walking orderly in this same routine."
So then when one is in this self-righteous "born again" frame of mind--taught not in the Bible--then one is indeed in a very dangerous attitude other than the type Christ had!
--He never acted in any way that his way of salvation was guarunteed because it was not, otherwise why did Satan try to tempt him so many times?
--Just before he was to be taken why did he spend the night pray & asking his disciples to pray with him, if salvation was such a sure thing. It never was even for him, he had to try earnestly to remain faithful even though he was perfect? Note how fervently he prayed all night
(Matthew 26:41-42) 41 Keep on the watch and pray continually, that YOU may not enter into temptation. The spirit, of course, is eager, but the flesh is weak.” 42 Again, for the second time, he went off and prayed, saying: “My Father, if it is not possible for this to pass away except I drink it, let your will take place.. . .

If someone has truly repented and put their faith in Jesus as Lord and Savior, then I don't believe that they can lose their salvation because they have been saved, forgiven, and born-again. If a person is still living a sinful lifestyle, then they probably didn't really put their faith in Jesus. Christians can still mess up though. The Bible says that "He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion". www.equip.org

Once a child of God, always a child of God. But the born again experience happens when someone truly believes in their heart He raised from the dead, and honestly confessed Jesus Christ their Lord & Savior.
Many people might be religious but never confessed Jesus Christ Lord & Savior of their life. Those people can lose their salvation, because they are in a pre-salvation state. They don't really have a restored relationship with God. If they die without being born of God, Gods Way, then they aren't redeemed by the blood of the Lamb yet.
When a true born again Christian tries to abide in sin they could die early. He who destroys the body of Christ, God destroys. Our Christian bodies are the temple of the Holy Ghost. We are redeemed by His Blood and purchased. We are sealed with the Holy Spirit until the day of redemption. We are to be Holy because God is Holy. It is impossible for one born of God to abide in sin (make it a comfortable habit) because of the Holy Seed within.
Lack of prayer and unrepentant sin causes one to fall away, and their are conscequences. God will not be mocked, we reap what we sow. But if one is truly born of God, are made the righteousness of Christ, because of Jesus redeeming blood.
We build our house on the rock foundation, Jesus Christ. We build according to Gods Word or according to perishable things. When what we builds is tested by fire. The perishable gets fried, and the everlasting (works rooted in faith, hope & love) goes to heaven with us.
People need to realize the 'prodigal son' story is in the bible for a reason. There is no point of no returning to Christ while alive on this earth.
We may be filled with the Holy Spirit and let the oil in our lamps run dry. But God is there, but the conscequences also. We will have to go through a difficult time. But what God did is sufficient for the gift of eternal life. As soon as we are born of God, God sees us made the righteousness of Jesus Christ.
Also, what we can lose is rewards. God loves to give us rewards. Some people won't get those rewards, because they didn't build with everlasting building blocks. But the Person founded on the Rock is saved (eternal life) though all persons works perished.
Being born again is being redeemed by the blood of the Lamb. It is being made the righteousness of Christ. It is Christ righteousness and not self-righteousnes.
It is written, who is he who overcomes, he who is born of God, and what is our victory, our faith.

John-3:16
16.For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
we will not be taken away from Jesus ever,by any one. We are His possession.
How ever we can get more rewards in Heaven then salvation.
in my father's house there are many mansions
When we over come.
Just one of many examples.
REV.3
5.He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.
21.To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.
22.He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.
There are many one of my fav. is this one :)
REV 2
7He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.
We will never loose our salvation, but we can always improve our standing with our Lord in overcoming, what the Holy Ghost will convict us of.
God loves you very much, I know you are my brother/ sister, for ever not just a day, or until we mess up it is forever.

2 Peter 2:20-22 20 If they have escaped the corruption of the world by knowing our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and are again entangled in it and overcome, they are worse off at the end than they were at the beginning. 21It would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than to have known it and then to turn their backs on the sacred command that was passed on to them. 22Of them the proverbs are true: "A dog returns to its vomit,"[f]and, "A sow that is washed goes back to her wallowing in the mud."
If we walk away from our salvation and back into sin... yes.

good question...... lack of prayer can lead you into temptation and temptation can lead you into sin..... and has it is written in Galatians ch.5 verse 19-21 it says : the acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery, idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of GOD.
how can you be saved and serve GOD and be in such sin... yes JESUS SAVES but it's up to us to keep our salvation.... to practice good and depart from evil.... so yes we can lose our salvation if we do not repentant and continue to do evil in the sight of GOD.... now if we do repentant and depart from our evil ways and serve the LORD with all our hearts HE will bless us and we will be HIS people.....
