Point Dume Beach (off PCH right next to Zuma beach) is a nice place to go. There's a good chance you'll see dolphins swimming by. It's probably too cold to go in the water, but it's a great place to fly a kite and watch the sunset. And you don't have to pay for parking!

Also, eat at Malibu Seafood. Their fish tacos, fish and chips, their seafood platters--it's all good! It makes my mouth water. It's casual with outdoor seating across from the ocean. You can't beat it.

Finally, if you're looking for some culture, visit the Getty Villa. It's a beautiful museum dedicated to ancient cultures. Technically, it's in Pacific Palisades, not Malibu, but it's close enough. Admission is free, but you do need to make reservations.
