How good is the friend? Is he better looking than you? Who does the girl like more? If it's about even or she can't decide you might want to reconsider how much she really likes you. But if you do feel really strongly about her than beat your friend to the punch. I mean, there will be other girls out there for him why not go ahead and she if this one is for you?
But if he's really that good of a friend, no girl is worth splitting up a good friendship. Do what you think is best. As my guy friends love to say, "Bros before hoes." Hah.

Nop. girls will come and go, but friends stay for life. As a matter of fact both of you should get away from this girl. if you like to keep your friendship. but then we don't know the whole situation and the girl in question.

Yeah, try to see just how much he likes her... I've been in that situation before, but all I did was talk to my friend and we reached an agreement (he let me date her).
