I personally after being not vegetarian for 14 years have decided to stop eating animals because it is so cruel and to me its like being a cannibal.Would it stunt my growth if I am a vegetarian.

I don't think it would 'stunt your growth' and guess it's a personal choice. There are plenty of alternatives out there to give your system what it needs...nutritionally. But as for eating 'animals'...even animals eat animals......and they don't have nutritionist telling them what their body needs, they do what nature instructs them to do...also talk this over with your parents first, then if you still feel this is what you want to "try", then do what makes you happy. :)

I became vegetarian when I was 13 for similar reasons. If you make sure to eat a balanced diet, you shouldn't have a problem. I know a few people who grew up vegetarian, and they are perfectly healthy.

Here are some foods to provide the vitamins/minerals that you find in meat:

Beans are a great source of protein, iron, and B6. Dark leafy greens are an excellent source of iron. Soy comes in many forms and will provide you with protein. Milk contains protein and Vitamins B & D.

It won't stunt your growth because milk products have protein that can make up for the meat. It may even be healthier to be a vegetarian than a meat eater. However I do not agree with you to become a vegatarian bacause it is cruel but it is your decision

I wouldn't recommend it. If you do choose a vegetarian diet, be sure to get the protein you need, but it is much healthier to eat meat, there are some essential nutrients in meat that you just can't get anywhere else.

You should discuss it with your parents.

It is very important that you understand about eating a balanced diet so that while you are still growing your body gets all of the nutrients it needs to grow and function properly.

Getting enough protien takes work so learn about it before you start doing it.
