It doesn't hurt unless you cut into the quick.
If that happens, the nail will bleed.

It might sting a little, but dogs have a high pain tolerance. If you don't cut them too short, she should be fine. A lot of dogs are hard to cut nails because they didn't have it done that often when they were puppies.. My dog squirms a little, but my advice is to be firm, but gentle, let them know your the boss, and have a treat ready for when they are well behaved.. also, try cutting them a little more often, so your dog gets in the habit of having her nails cut. Good Luck!

No, a nail trim does not hurt them if cut properly. If they have been short cut previously, then you will have problems after that.

At most, there is probably a little pressure like a person might feel when clipping either their thumb nail or big toe nail (thicker nails).

That is why trimming their nails regularly (beginning very young) is very important.

No, you just need to make sure your aren't cutting into the vessel that is in the part closest to the paw. If you look closely you can see where the vessel ends and where you can begin to cut on the nail.

no it does not hurt them. but if they are cut too short it will hurt. and l do believe that at one time some one cut the nail too short and that is why it freaks out. and they do remember this.

No it doesn't hurt. As long as the nail isn't cut into the red area. The reason dogs are so jumpy is that the sound and the pressure they feel scares them.
Our dog usually bites her nails so we won't cut them. Once
she understood it doesn't hurt she will let us do it.

no, they just get scared because most people dont know how to cut their nails and end up cutting the quick, which is VERY painful for them and it bleeds alot. so then when you try to cut their nails again they get scared.

it doesn't hurt them any more than it hurts you to cut your nails. the thing is sometimes the sound scares them and the feeling trapped scares them.
be especially careful not to cut too low. that really hurts them!

If they clip them too far up and get a little bit of the quick yeah it hurts, just like it would hurt you if you do the samething.
