Is it because Islam is a state religion and they cannot conceive that our gov't is does not have a state religion? They always say Christians when they criticize our gov't.
Our gov't is made up of many religions, even Islam and atheists so why do they lump Xtianity and gov't together?

The U.S. was founded on Christian priniciples and we support Israel. The Islamic Fundamentalists who believe what the Koran says, call Christians, Jews, and anyone who is not a Muslim an "infidel". In Sura 9 of the Koran, it tells the Muslims to "slay the idolaters wherever you find them and lie in ambush and wait for them". That is why there are so many violent terrorists. Basically the religion of the Islamic Fundamentalists is to try to convert the world to Islam but if people don't convert, then the terrorists will kill the people who didn't want to convert. If a Muslim becomes a Christian, then some of the Muslims in a Muslim country will seek to kill that person for leaving Islam. Islam is also very oppressive to women. It is important to know however, that many Muslims are peaceful friendly people, it is only the ones who follow every word of the Koran that are violent terrorists. www.equip.org

You do know when you say Muslims you refer 1 500 000 000 people? About FIVE times the population of the US. Don't make such generalizations. I an American Muslim and I know full well that America is a secular country, which preserves the freedom of religion.

If you are talking about the Middle-Easters be more specific as to the Flag Burning Middle-Easters, those who only see America bombing Afghanistan and causing death and destruction in Iraq. Try and open your eyes and imagine what they see? They see their version of Propaganda, much like Glenn Becks nonsense.

They do not know about the religious freedoms I enjoy as an American Citizen and a Canadian Citizen, all they (Middle-Eastern Muslims) see is the death and destruction caused by America.

I wish the world's people weren't so dumb.

I know of no Muslim authority that marries the US Government to Christianity. Some Muslim individuals may do so just to get back at Christianity...or the US Government but we all know that there is a distinct division between church and state in the US. Many Muslims in the US are very active politically; there is even a Muslim group called 'Muslims for Bush'

The US National Anthem states that "We are one nation under God." The consensus of the United States is that one God is the founder of Christianity, although we have many other religions as well in our country. The majority of the rule is basically Christian. That could be the reason why the Muslim religion would consider the United States to be ruled by Christianity just as their country is ruled by the Muslim religion.

Because the United States was originally established as a Christian settlement, then it became 13 colonies, then turned into an entire nation. Even though there are other religions in America, to Islamic countries it still considered a Christian nation which is a treat to them.

the US government seems to be spreading terror to keep its war support going. So this is the same way people confuse terrorism with Islam. People always criticize Islam when they criticize the terrorists. Terrorists are of many different backgrounds/religions, why do they lump Islam and terrorism?

You just contradicted yourself with that question.

You just generalized all Muslims to be the same. You assume that most, if not all confuse Christianity with the US gov't. How is it that you assume that all 1.6 million Muslims confuse Christianity with the U.S. government? Where are all of these Muslims who say this? Have you met them? Or did you just hear one brainwashed fool on the TV screen confusing Christianity with the US gov't?

ANSWER TO YOUR QUESTION: They don't.

Ludd, there are far more than just three groups in Iraq. What about turkmen and Assyrians? There are tons of various ethnic groups there, not just Kurds, Sunnis, and shia. And don't think for a second that you are above the average American because you heard these groups mentioned once on Jon Stewart. Grow up and stop belittling people.

Because there has never been an avowed non-Christian president or vice president and only avowed Christians and Jews have ever served on the Supreme Court or in positions of leadership in the Congress.

The problem is not that Muslims confuse Christianity with the U.S. Government, it's the Dubya and his minions confuse Christianity with the U.S. Government.
