Did they do bloodwork on you? They may have found that you didn't develop the antibodies when you got the first set of vaccines.

Or maybe the doctor doesn't have any record of you completing the vaccinations...

if you didn't develope antibodies, I wouldn't vaccinate again, chances are there is something going on in the body.

some of those with hepatitis c (different than b) do not develope antibodies for HBV. this is unknown. it occurs in about 48% of us.

I opted not to have the vaccine and my liver doctor was in agreeance.

If your not considered high risk, chances are you don't need the vaccine anyway.

I would be more concerned as to why you didn't develope antibodies.

Good luck!

its very normal. it takes three to four shots to fully vaccinize against Hep B. it can take anywhere from 1 to 3 years to get them all.

Sometime you don't sero-convert on the first round (of 3 shots) and need to do a second round (of 3 shots) to become immunized against Hepatitis. This is not an uncommon occurrence. I had to have two rounds of shots and friend of mine has never converted after three rounds of shots. After this round they will check your titer levels with a blood test to make sure that you sero-convert. This tests the levels of antibodies against hepatitis in your blood. Good luck with this round - hopefully it will work for you this time.
