Lots of eyeshadow. Big puffy hair with a lot of teasing + hair spray. You could also wear a head band -- very hot back in the 80s. I'm sure that you are familiar with the mullet? In the 80's the mullet was a tour de force. As for what to wear: jazz shoes and leg warmers or fringe boots and colored tights, puffy short skirt, cut the neck, arms and bottom half off of a sweatshirt and pull it off one shoulder... put a tank top underneath. Now add a tank top (a net or mesh) tank top over the top. Very 80s. Good luck!

The BIGGEST look in the 80's was old school Madonna. Watch a show like "I love the 80's" on VH1 or look up what Madonna looked like in the early days. Like when she did Lucky Star, Like a Virgin, Borderline - that would be the EXACT look to go for.

I recommend Madonna's early "Boy Toy" look or punk. The large shoulder pad, big hair, long nails, over the top glam (tv shows - Dynasty & Dallas) is a good one too.

The Flashdance/Jazzercise look is a fun one and not too hard to create. (cut sweats, leg warmers, extremely co-ordinated aerobics/dancewear)

Swoop your hair to one side with the bangs longer on one side. Tease it to make it sort of messy, but not too messy. Look for a picture of "Flock of Seaguls" online. Makeup was bold, dark eyeliner, mascara, and geometrical. Look for "Bananarama". Clothes were an odd combination of masculine shoulder pads with feminine fluffy skirts. Look for "Madonna" - queen of accessories.
