Engineering covers many disciplines in many fields. Some civil, mechanical, electrical and structural engineers work with architects in the design of buildings and structures such as stadiums, airports, skyscrapers, homes and even bridges. For example, a structural engineer working on a high rise will design the foundation, floor slab, beams, columns and roof system A mechanical engineer will design the elevators, heating, ventilation and cooling systems. The civil engineer is responsible for site work, project controls and construction management.
On the other hand, architects work closely with the project's owners in desiging a structure which meets the owners demands. The also deal mainly with the structures aesthetics which if successful, will blend into the surrounding environment. Architects specify different materials in their designs to achieve their project goals. Lastly, some architects have engineering degrees.

An architect focuses generally on the aesthetics and human function of the development. A structural (civil) engineer makes a speciality of the components and making valuable the development won't supply way on itself. the two are significant in designing a development. before any development is made, it needs to be "stamped" by way of professional Engineers, who make valuable that each thing concerning the development is genuine and up-to-spec. in case you have a PE license in Civil Engineering, you would be paid plenty extra desirable than an architect. in case you basically have a level in Civil Engineering, some architects may well be paid extra.

Architects are structural engineers. Architects and structural engineers are the same, for all practical purposes, except that architects take one or more years of courses dealing with building aesthetics and varying materials of construction, after getting their degree in structural engineering.
Most architects end up with masters degrees for that reason, but architects are fully capable of performing their own structural designs.

Architects design pretty looking things and engineers make the pretty things structurally sound.

i.e. Frank Lloyd Wright, he made pretty things, but they are all falling down because he did not have a strong grasp of concrete design, statics, and dynamics.
