You could do what any of these answers suggest or you could get a media player that conveniently links your PC with your home entertainment system.

Depends on your Television. If you have newer HDTV a lot of these sets will have a VGA or PC input on the back. All you would need then would be a simple monitor cable. However, if you have an older television you would most likely need a new video card. Find one that has an S-video out and you can use that to hook up your television to it.

As far as audio goes, A simple 3.5 mm to stereo RCA cable should take care of that. Just plug in the mini plug 3.5 mm end to your headphone jack, and then the RCA's to the appropriate analog audio RCA jacks in the back of your receiver/surround sound.

wouldn't it be easier for you to burn the movie onto DVD and then play it on your TV?
I think you might need to have a USB port on your TV to play from pc to tv
