Wlad Klitschko's corner he would not be in the position he is in right now. Steward, the great American trainer, has taken an awkward, skill lacking, glass jawed and lackluster heavyweight champion and given him the know how to hold on to the title much longer than he would have if he had stuck with his prior trainer. Agree or disagree and why.

i agree 1000%! trainers sometimes don't get credit for their contributions. they make a great fighter greater, make a good fighter great, and make a rank fighter competitive. where would tyson have been w/o d'amato; where would hearns have been w/o steward; where would ali and leonard have been w/o dundee... it's not coincidence leonard struggled right after he fired dundee. ali might've lost to cooper had dundee not "fixed" his glove, sugar ray might've lost to hearns, had dundee not told him "you're blowing it, son, you're blowing it."

klitch might be a decent fighter, but w/o the great steward in his corner, he would just be another "former-soviet" fighter and not distinguished as the top of his crop, at the moment. give the trainer his due and recognize that he's the one who takes a fighter's raw talent and skills and hones them to perfection...

...one last tip, where would luke skywalker have been w/o kenobi and yoda? still a farm boy! think about it!~

Manny Steward of course is not your average run of the mill trainer Brent so of course he has been a big help as he has been for any fighter he ever trained as he is great at refining a fighters skills and a great teacher. I'm sure that he has helped Klitschko particularly with his footwork, defense and how to use his jab more effectively. Had Klitschko still had his old trainer he probably would not be a champion today because he really isn't all that impressive to me in a weak heavyweight division.

I'm sure Steward has improved him, but don't forget that he won a gold medal in the olympics prior to this. He is also older and more mature now. Not to mention the extremely poor quality of opposition that now exists. I think Steward is a great trainer who is taking full advantage of the heavyweight situation.

Yes definitely agree with you. Manny taught Wlad to pace himself, to fight tall, to improve his defense and to better use his jab. Manny has worked wonders with Wlad. Wlad is now a favorite over anyone in the division. He has a good game plan for every fight.

I would like to see him avenge that Brewster loss so we could see for sure how far he has come.

I THOROUGHLY AGREE WITH YOU. THE REASON IS THAT YOU ARE 100% CORRECT. YOUR KNOWLEDGE OF THE FIGHT GAME REMINDS ME OF THE ORIGINAL "BIBLE OF BOXING" NAT FLEISCHER.

EDIT:
WHEN I THOUGHT ABOUT THIS AGAIN. WITHOUT THIS BLACK-AMERICAN TRAINER HE WOULD JUST BE A GLORIFIED CLUB FIGHTER. OOPS!! THAT IS WHAT IS NOW.
