I try to keep the gift classy and elegant, general rule is nothing under $50 and nothing over $200..I usually give beautiful crystal vases or sugar/candy bowls or crystal candle holders.

A plant, flowers, a holiday knic knac, a special food treat, a box of homemade candy, a fancy utensil for serving food, a candy dish. I always like to give something different or unusual if possible - they won't have another like it. Good Luck P.S. once when I traveled out of state with my children to visit my brother & family I did this - It was interesting to all. After I was there and we went to the grocery store one day I saw there was a lot of melons which I had never seen before. I purchased one of each that looked interesting. To my surprise they were really enthused - they'd never taken the time to sample any of the unusual ones.

I wasn't going to answer because others have already given you the answer that I was going to give but then I got to thinking the more people that say "Gift Certificate" The more you find that it is a good idea. People can take it and buy whatever they are truly in need of.

First, you've got to plan a theme for your house warming party. Well, if you decided for example a "spring time house warming party"... then you can give your guests a terracota pot with a flowering plant or herbs. And if you dont have enough time to plan for a theme then a gift certificate can be greatly appreciated.

I got a magnetic memo board that I loved because moving into a new house you always come across something you need to pick-up or chore you need to do.

Give them a gift card to their favorite home store so they can get what they want without you having to worry if they will like it or even use it.
