Cold water will pull some of the heat out of the skin which will cool the burn down.
Do not put any oil based ointment or lotion on it.
Some people say aloe vera but I don't honestly think it does anything.
You are better off with just cold water.
If the skin is opened, you will need to cover it until it heals with a gauze or bandaid.
If a blister forms, do not open it. That's natures own bandaid.

After the burning stops, you can put on an antibacterial ointment.

There are many things you can do to help with your burn. However, if the burn is very large, or you have other medical conditions, such as diabetes, you should seek treatment from your doctor. If your burn is minor, you can take first-aid measures to relieve pain, prevent contamination, and promote healing. It is important to cool the burn with cool tap water (lavage, soaks, compress or immersion). Cooling the burn will reduce pain, delay onset and minimize burn welling. It is best to avoid applying ice or ice-cold water because this may cause a lack of feeling, which can result in further tissue damage. Also, it is important to note that you should not pull or peel off burned skin so that you do not delay healing. If you are experiencing pain, you can take an oral medication such as ibuprofen, acetaminophen, or aspirin. Once the burn area is dry, you can use a skin protectant ointment, such as A+D original ointment. It is important to note that if the burn does not improve over the next 2-3 days, you should seek treatment from your doctor.

use ice to stop the burn and then soothe the burn mark with aloe (if you have an aloe plant, just slice a tip off one leaf and rub the oozy suff from it on the burn)....or use aloe lotion.
