I think Valentines Day is BS. I won't spend a dime on that stupid made up holiday. Roses are a waste of money. If I love you, its not just for one day, its for 365 days. I also don't have to buy you anything to prove my love, I would do it because I want to not because I have to.

Do not generalize, obviously not all men buy roses and chocolates for their women on valentines day, or any other day. Some women would be thrilled to get any gift from their man any day of the week.

Would you prefer to have no gift? At least your man is attempting to get you something you like. If you do not like his choice of gifts, you should tell him so and not be on here complaining. Men are generally confused about what gifts are acceptable anyway, so just honestly tell him that you would prefer a nice card, and evening out, a day at the spa...whatever. Good luck.

Men are simple and somewhat stupid. They dont know these things. They are just doing what they think they are suppose to be doing. How about you buy him chocolate and flowers for V-day. Why does everyone seem to think that the guy always has to buy the girl something.

Yes, that's pretty lame. However, I would be curious to hear what women WOULD want for valentines day? I bought a trip to Vegas once for a woman I was dating. Other than that, I, too, must confess that I'm not the best at thinking of good things to get!!

They don't all do that. There are worse things than getting bored with a situation. There are women who would love to receive these gifts and be "the one" on this romantic holiday. It is never the wrong time to be thought of in a special way and to have someone in your life who thinks enough of you to show it.

Do you actually think a guy cares about Valentine's Day? Women are sentimental. Men know that. If he gets us a mushy card and some chocolate and flowers, we get all passive and smiley, and cuddly. It's one of the few days of the year that they KNOW if they play it right, they get to play.

hey i htink the reason they buy us roses and umm chocolates is mayB beacuse thats wat they think we want y dunt u tell ur man, that ur getting bored of the same ol thing and is a turn off. i think if u emphazize turn off he might be like oh y didnt u say so. u cant expect guys 2 be able 2 read our minds u have to tell them how we feel and wat we want instead of them having to guess n get the rong stuff, then the poor guys will be so confused leading to arguments and fights.

next tyme juss say babe y dun we make our own holiday routine and cusine and get a way from the typical stuff. eat ice-cream toghether or get borrow a recipe book and do sumting for him for a change y does valentines day have to be only about us gurls:S ( srry gurls) hehe i mean borrow a recipe book and both of u cook sumthing toghether to resemble ur luv.

good luck wit it

Because they have been taught by our society that this is what a woman likes. It is a way of expressing their love for you. So...Enjoy the chocolates and roses. Be sure to tell him how much you appreciate this gesture of love.

Here's the thing...media gives the perception that it is what is expected of a man to give. Shown as romantic and what guy doesn't want to be seen as romantic. Just tell your man that you expect him to find some other gift to express his feelings towards youand I am sure he will do his best to impress you...I know I would.
