You do you taxes. You don't have to mail them until April 15th, right? So do them now, and you'll know what you're getting back. Then send them in whenever you want to.
Oh - and if you're getting a refund - you don't even have to send them by the filing deadline. Penalties are assessed based on what you OWE. A refund = no tax due = no deadline.
Okay, there is a deadline. If you don't file for your refund within three years of the original due date of the return, they get to keep your refund.
Can't imagine why anyone would delay getting their own money back though...

Collect your tax information and fill out a return. Check the refund amount before you file it.
If you use a preparer, the preparer should let you know how much you are getting back before they file the return.

The only way to be absolutely sure what you'll be getting back or have to pay is to complete your tax return. There are some websites that can help you estimate it, but they are only estimates. Some are pretty accurate but the only way to be sure it to fill out a return.
