Well a headache means your head is hurting. But your head has different parts that can hurt. Your spinal column starts there (your neck), you have a lot of facial nerves, and you have sinus cavities that can get infected. If you have a headache that doesn't go away, or keeps reoccuring - see a doctor.

When I have a headache the entire top of my forehead hurts and I can't staand to here anyone talk any light seems to make my head pound worse

Your head...and maybe your neck and shoulders. Sometimes if your headache is bad enough, even your teeth will hurt!

Depends what kind of headache. Normal tension headaches, it's your muscles. Migraine is different, it has to do with your blood vessels.
