I don't know but I know that I was in the military for 4 yrs and I have found that the civilian world is much like the military world in that supervisors and companies are trying to be like the military. I work at coca cola and they make us have hair above the neck line and we have to be shaven and they seem to treat us as if we are in basic training.

Sounds like that person needs to mature up a little bit. You are absolutely correct that we ALL have someone telling us what to do in business.
The military day-to-day is not the in-your-face tactics one sees in movies and the Discovery Channel. That IS important to enforce the idea of rigid chain-of-command, but is normally counterproductive for experienced troops.
Sounds like that person needs to talk with folks who have some military service under their belt. If you look around here, from foks who have REALLY done stuff, not just wannabes/idiots, you'll see the majority have positive things to say.

If the person has a genuine problem with following lines of authority, he is definitely going to hate the military. Sometimes people just mean they don't like idiots or people with no legitimate authority bossing them around; but they may be perfectly willing to take reasonable orders from a duly appointed supervisor. I know there's lots of orders I'd happily take from a drill sergeant when I'd just as happily tell my Governor to go **** herself.

People tend to talk big about themselves. When I person says I could of, would of or should of, done this or that, they are trying to make themselves out to be more than what they are.

Hehe, they are probably believing the way they see the military portrayed in some movies.
