Julio,

Most hanguns would have to be picked up at an FFL (most likely your local gun shop). Online or mailorder houses will not send you a firearm to your home*.

*ONE exception...

Julio, you can apply to the BATFE for a C & R license. C & R stands for Curio and Relic. Once BATFE approves you for your C&R, on-line and mail order houses are allowed to ship handguns and rifles directly to your home, as long as the firearm qualifies as a C&R, which means that it was manufactured more than 50 years ago.

Due to federal law you may purchase a gun from an online retailer by doing what is called an FFL transfer. You should first find the gun you want on gunbroker, auctionarms, etc... then contact a local gun dealer and inquire about his fees and how to go about doing this.

Yes, but no. While you can buy handguns over the net, they MUST be sent to your local gun dealer for you to pick up. They can't be sent directly to you unless you have a Federal Firearms License, or FFL for short. You will have to fill out the #%&$$#Fed buyers form when you pick it up. Local dealers can charge $10.00 an up to receive the gun and, of course, notified of the purchase beforehand.

No. Guns aren't available online, used or new, store or private party. You need a permit in most, if not all states (maybe not Montana) to buy a gun. That is why.
