I went to the movies with my friend and she brought a boy that I don't know (he is just a friend of hers from college). I ignored him, was not interested and I showed it, he sat by me in the movie and kept poking my side, kept trying to grab my hand, and kissed me at the end of the night....I told him to get away and leave me alone as did my friend. I'm not sure, but am I sending mixed signals or is he just that desperate?

It doesn't sound like you're sending mixed signals. The guy just has a problem with respect. Make sure you don't see him anymore. What he did was totally inappropriate. I think girls sometimes make the mistake of saying no when they mean yes, (I don't mean you) and guys eventually don't know what to think anymore.
