I live in south Georgia and people here tend to be mean to Muti-Racial children

I think the views concerning interracial children have matured considerably. Those who discriminate against the mixed are fortunately in the minority.

Your child may experience one or two instances of prejudice but the reality is, irrespective of race, people will always respond negatively to others for a wide range of reasons. All of us whether mixed, White, Black, Asian or Hispanic will at some point in our lives experience rejection. Everyone has a different opinion and not all will be accepting.

The best thing to do is instill in your child strength of character, and personal pride in who s/he is and what s/he came from. Let him/her know that people are people, regardless of race, color, wealth or gender. Once s/he acknowledges this, I'm pretty sure s/he can withstand whatever ignorance is out there concerning mixed individuals.

i personally would hope that the baby would just be respected as a human... yet sadly today in parts of our world people are still ridiculed by the color of their skin, what they wear, or what they believe in... it honestly depends on how and where the baby was raised... it's different if it's always supported by it's family and is surrounded by a strong diverse community. Rather than being raised in an unstable home while being bullied and taunted by racial slurs... i just really can't say... I'm sorry that probably wasn't much help...

As long as you give all your Love to the Baby, who, cares what other people might think. Do not look down on yourself when confronted with this issue, no one has any right to dictate what you are going to do with your life. Live and let Live that is my motto, so be proud that you are going to be a Mother, some women can't conceive, and if they could they would not mind having a Mixed Racial Baby, as long as it's healthy, is what matters.

Is this a celebrity baby? Why so worry about the public? How much of the public is this baby going to see? People who have always accepted you know your situation and that shouldn't change. There are some people who make mean remarks about others all the time and it has nothing to do with race. How short someone is,how tall, how stupid, how blonde. Love your baby, that's all you should worry about.

That should be a beautiful baby... If this was 20 yrs ago, I would say it could be problem. But today mixed race babies are soooooo common and most people don't even worry about it...except for the racists. And they don't need to see a baby to hate. They just hate..

Good luck with the new baby... I am sure everything will be great.

1) Don't worry about what people think or say. Those are called stupid people.
2)Love your child with allll your being, don't make crazy comments 2 your child. Ex: half-breed, ****, ***%*!,etc.
3)The world is cruel, like all minorities(non-white people), your child will have upsets, troubles, disappointments, etc. SO give your child a name he/she can get a job with.
4)My daughter is 5 years old: she's Black/Guatemalan. I'm Black, dad is Latino. We're both from New York, so nothing fazes us.
5)Don't worry about anything. Just follow those steps, becuz one day your child will grow up and be someone very important, changing the world. You don't have to explain S*** to NOBODY! Its none of anyone's business what race/ethnicity your child is. Its between you, the kid's dad, and GOD. Think about it: If there was something wrong with mixing races, don't you think God would have fixed it???

P.S. Don't use the word "MIXED"! We mix food. Mix means you don't know what's in something. Use intelligent words such as, Bi-racial, Multi-racial. You wouldn't want he/she to put "mixed" on their test papers, do you? God Bless!!!!

This is 2007. There is absolutely NOTHING wrong with mixed babies. I have one (alaskan native and icelandic). Niether she nor I have suffered any rejection, although people often think she's adopted because I am very white and she is very dark. Frankly, I wouldnt care if people did reject us. They are in the wrong when they judge and even the bible says that.
Do not worry about what people will think cause they are not going to say anything to your face about it, and if they say crap behind your back, that's their own stupidity taking over. Saying hateful, judgemental things is just a way for miserable people to pass their time and make themselves feel better about themselves. I embrace all the races of the world. I think that is going to be one BEAUTIFUL baby, and she is going to have a fantastic complexion!

I don't know many ppl that aren't mixed these days. I'm norwegian, swedish, irish, german, scottish, english, french, cree and something else. Now if that isn't mixed, I don't know what is! The only time I got teased is when ppl thought I was an indian. Thats cuz there were lots of indians in the town I was raised. Now that I moved to a more dutch community, nobody thinks I'm indian....weird.

No matter what the baby is, he/she will be yours, that is something to cherish, other than the KKK, I don't think that most people are that concerned with mixed race. 50 years ago it would have been a big deal, but, the world has come a long way since then. My daughters best friend is mixed, and all her siblings (except the baby, who is white, lol, the 10 yr old said "its gonna be weird, cause the baby will be white" I said "THERE AINT NOTHIN WRONG WITH WHITE BABIES" lol)

i don't know about now a days.. but my bf who is 30 has some serious issues being mix Mex.. seems no one accepted him when he moved here at age 15.. oh he came from California to Georgia.. he hates it here.. said he never knew prejudiced till he moved here..so it may just depend on where you live .. and what year it is also.. any way with that combination.. i would have to say your child will be born with the complexion that most people would die to have.. and the dark thick hair to match..a real beautiful child.. congrats on the new baby.. and i would not worry.. more and more children are mixed..only the really narrow minded will reject him or her..and i disagree with estrid.. who said only the druggie would be that way.. my ex is not a druggie but he rejucts his own grandson because he is mixed..they typically dont judge people cause they dont want to be judge by their habbits
