how much allowance does a navy man get if he is married...
Lives in VA and is on Shore duty.

there is no extra pay for getting married. BAH goes up tot the With dependant rate.. and is typically only a hundred or so dollars more than the Single rate.

What exactly is living in VA housing and Spouse Allowance. I've been in the Navy for 22 years and don't know those terms.

If you are a sailor's spouse you should ask them. Another option is to go to the navy web site (www.navy.mil) and link to pay and allowances, use some basic math skills and figure it out.

depends on what area--

Pacific NW gets an E5 about $850/month BAH.
California about $1000 BAH.
The South is always less.
