Genesis - starting in chapter 11 and it goes on through ch.22
and beyond.
Chapter 22 depicts one of the most pivotal events in God's Word,
where God asks Abraham to offer up h i s only son and, as a covenant Partner with Abraham, God the Father gave HIS only begotten Son as our sacrifice.
It shows Isaac willingly going with his father, carrying wood, up to
what is NOW the Temple Mount in Jerusalem.
I also learned - not so long ago - that in Genesis 22 that after
Abraham was willing to go all the way and actually sacrifice his only son to God, the VERY same location where it says that a ram was caught in a bush by its horns -- that is the ACTUAL place where the Son of God would actually die on the cross!!!!
And also one of the most IMPORTANT verses in relation to God sending His Son one day for our salvation was spoken by Abraham when he answered his son saying that God would provide the lamb for the burnt offering -- and that is exactly what He did in sending His Son down from heaven.
Y'SHUA (Jesus) is that LAMB, the Lamb without spot or blemish, our Passover Lamb, the Lamb of God Who takes away the sin of the world....
The name Y'shua - Joshua in English - MEANS "SALVATION"
and there is SALVATION in no other!!!
Acts 4:12 and John 8:24
Everything was done in the way and at the time that God destined
for it to happen. Nothing happened by "accident" and nothing took God by surprise. He does not MAKE mistakes/ He KNOWS what
He's doing!!! :-)

Abraham’s story is originally found in Genesis, but given that he is the father of the Jewish people, and a spiritual father to Christians, I would argue that his story can’t be confined to Genesis. His actions, and his fidelity towards God have repercussions that permeate all of the biblical record, and our own lives.
