Basically, this guy who's been talking to me recently and has been dropping pretty big hints that he likes me asked me if I had a b/f - and I told him I did (this is true). But even after, he still says all this stuff like, "If we were to go out...", "I would go out with you...", "I would fight for you," etc.
If he knows I have a b/f, why does he still do this? Just curious.

I think it's pretty obvious that he likes you...
Imagine boys and girls in caveman days...no talking just hunting for the boys and the girls just staying back in the cave. Now back then if a man like a woman, he clubbed her over the head and dragged her back to his cave right? And if the there were two guys they would fight and the biggest and strongest would win...
Well thankfully we've evolved a little since then and no longer club the women and drag them back to our apartment!! But still men fight over women...and even though he knows you have a b/f he wants to fight for you!

just because you have a boyfriend doesn't mean he can stop liking you. This is probably the case and if it bothers you you should stop being friends. If he likes you that much now he will never stop which may lead to him satlking you and all sorts of weird things! Okay I took it a little far there, bottom line he still likes you. Good Luck on not being stalked, lol.

Just because someone has put an offer on a house, doesn't mean someone else can't come in and buy it. Unless you are married, you're fair game. Boyfriends come and go, it sounds like he's willing to hang around a bit and see if he can shake you loose.

Because he is trying to make you curious and wanting you to go out with him even though you have a boyfirend. Tell him no and that is your final answer. He is just trying to sweet talk his way into you going out with him.

They just do. It's done to boost their already inflated egos and they seriously do believe that they can pull any chick they want. So prove him wrong..... kick him in the nuts and tell the loser you're not interested or you''ll just get labelled as "easy"

Guys usually don't even care if you have a boyfriend or not. If they want you, they'll keep trying thinking that you're going to break up with your current.

Because he's interested and is trying to give you reasons that he would be better for you. Be careful, don't play with him too much or you may lose the one you already have.

He must really like you. You need to let him know to his face that you have a bf (even if you have said it before), and you need to make it clear to him that you are happy with the relationship you are in. You need to do this before he somehow ruins your relationship with your bf. Hope this helps.
