whoever can help with this question is a star! i work on a normal pc (not a mac). cd or dvd is fine. i'd like to know how this could be done using my digital camer pics and a song i already have saved on file. thanks!!!

Get "Slide Show Pilot"..(it's free) from
http://www.colorpilot.com/slideshow.html.
It creates a slide show & allows you to add your own personal music files in the background.
The link takes you to a page to download & also shows a screenshot of the program interface.
Its a very simple to use program.
Once installed (then looking at the interface), click on the folder containg your pictures (top left) this will put your photos into the "file list" on right. Drag & drop the picture files you want to the "Slide list" below.
Then click on "sound" button (2nd from bottom on right), then "add" button top right & browse for a music file of your choice from your music files on your computer..double click on the music file to put it into "Sound Background Playlist " window & click OK
You can preview the slide show by clicking "play" on the main window interface .
To save the slide show as an .exe file which plays when clicked on, choose/click on the tenth icon from the left in the top menu or click on tools & choose "executable". In the next window choose the base output folder ie where you want the executable file saved to...& click start.
PS PS
To save & burn as mpeg (a standard compressed video format) to a CD/DVD click on tools & choose video CD/DVD.
To save as an AVI (a standard non compressed audio video format) on your computer which you can burn later to CD then click on tools & choose video.
Lastly I have been to the site & seen that this program is no longer free..sorry :-(

Go to microsoft and download photostory3 it's a free download and you can add tons of pics with music as the background.

i would recommend nero showtime, it's easy to use and comes with online manuals. if you've got microsoft office you could use powerpoint.
