This is just a guess, but I think the SD110 is old enough that it can not address more than 1 GB so it probably only partitioned out 1 GB. The other GB is just waiting patiently for you to buy a new camera so you can reformat the card and use all 2 GB.

Check your manual, if you can find it, and see what it says about limits on memory card capacity. I'll bet it stops at 1 GB. Maybe they even document less than that, like 512 MB, which used to be considered a big card - especially for a 3 MP camera.

Alan M is right, the SD110 is an 'old' camera at 3yrs old, so can only 'use' a card with a 1GB maximum capacity.

Sounds like a very good excuse for an upgrade (not only will you will get faster camera performance, but better features and better photo & movie quality too).
Stick with Canon of course ;-)

my dad has the same camera check the memery card and try format agian or checked if its all the way in(the memory card) also check if its using the cameras own memory if doent work take it to the place u bought it and ask .
