If you really need a high def camcorder, then I would suggest checking out www.expresscameras.com. They have a couple of Sony camcorders (HDR-FX1 and HDR-FX7) and a Canon (XH-A1) that fit the bill but I will stress that you want to make sure the packages include everything you need to get going (battery, lens, etc.)

If you are just after a quality camera and don't need too many bells and whistles, then I would suggest the Canon Xl1 or Xl1s. They are not high definition but are still quality prosumer camcorders. Good used ones are readily available for about $1500 - $1800

Sony HC52 is a miniDv digicam I watched for over a 300 and sixty 5 days, and finally provided. this is actual superb, inexpensive, gets your interest comprehensive, and has nighttime-innovative and prescient; a severely extra advantageous little function that makes the digicam even extra advantageous suited. Edit: haha i somewhat study the entire question... whoops
