I am just totally curious is all. But I am making 15 bean soup. Would it be more cost effective on the electric bill to cook them for 4.5 hours on the stovetop, or 6 hours in a crockpot?

Crockpot wins hand down - not just for efficient use of power, but because you don't have to worry about your food burning, because the results usually taste better ... tell you what, though, I didn't know there were fifteen kinds of bean in the world. Sounds interesting - possibly delicious. Yum!
