I used to live in Arkansas, but now I'm a living in stupid Washington! And I hate it! I hate my school, I just don't like it! People always think my southern accent is really weird. I don't know how to make friends and learn to like it here? Please help!

You need to be careful. I know you might feel like this is the biggest mistake you've ever made, but believe me it isn't. Try looking around at the GOOD things in your life right now.believe me, you don't want to move back, because your life might not be exactly the same way it was when you left, depsite waht your friends may tell you. Be friendly, and make some new friends. Eventually, your accent will fade, and if you don't want to, be proud of your accent. Make it a cool thing about yourself. Be the cute girl from the south. Just be yourself, and you'll get used to it. I know its hard right now, but believe me, look at the good around you. A roof over your head, a family, a free education, and evenutally thigns will turn around and get better.

Well, if you have a relative in Arkanas, you can maybe visit there, for the summer break and spring? I transfered to different schools....and well EVERYONE at that school is freaks! In some way. And I sorta feel your pain. It is hard to make friends (I mean all my friends are weird!) [not in a good way] But when your old enough, by law, you can move back and do whatever u want. And so what about ur accent, it's who you are....a big part of ya'll! Trust me...I am the only hispanic there.....I feel like a creep. But I just think, hey I gotta live with it. You can't change your accent, and if the people there think it is weird, then dont even try changing, because you are you! And hun...it can be hard, I really mean see if any relatives there will let you visit for break. Good luck! Have fun ya'll! I hope u go back home soon! ♥ Angel P.S. Sometimes moving is good, and new fresh start in life. Look back at the bad things! A new fresh start!

It's time for an attitude adjustment. You have to learn how to make the best out of this situation, like it or not. Once you look around & find some fun places to go & make friends, you'll look at life a little differently. No one wants to be around people who give off negative vibes. It'll only be as hard as you allow it to be when making friends at school. Just be yourself when you're around your classmates. Smile & be friendly at school & before long, you'll have lots of friends. So they think your accent is weird & have said so. Just laugh it off & don't sweat the small stuff. You'll fit in nicely, but it won't happen overnight. Relocating is not always easy but it's what you make of it that will determine if you are happy or miserable in the long run. Keep your chin up!

Over time, your accent will lessen, whether you like it or not. Over time, you'll meet people you like, and who like you. Over time, it will be fine.

At your age, you're going to need to have patience. I moved from Chicago to Los Angeles, as an ADULT, and it still sucked at first. It took me two years to get used to living here, and now (six years later) I can't imagine ever leaving -- goodness knows, I'll never go back to damp, snowy Chicago, even though I missed it terribly for the first few years.
