There is this guy at my college. He told his friends he really likes me and they told my friends. He also told them he thinks I'm beautiful and sometimes when we're in the same room I catch him staring at me but he never once comes talk to me. What is up with that? Is he just playing me?

if he was actually making promises to you and lying to then yes i would say you were getting played.. but when you haven't actually spoken about 'you and him together' then how on earth can you be getting played?

just ask him out

He is probably shy. Try just saying hello ____ and give him a smile. Smile back when you catch him looking at you. Or just ask him if he would like to go out with you.
Some guys feel that the girl they like doesn't feel the same and don't want to be rejected. They might never ask you. It is not a bad thing for you to take the initiative.

No, he is not playing you! He likes you..he really does. If he is telling his friends, that means he really likes you. Guys who are shy around a girl they say they like is a good sign, but don't wait for him to make the first move as he might think you are out of his league. Make small talk or someone, then maybe he will come out of his shell. If you like him, don't let him get away! Go for it girl!

He's shy, and/or afraid of rejection. He's hoping that by letting his friends know, you'll find out -- and will make the first move, or will let his friends know that it's safe to make a move.

So he likes you, and isn't playing you; at the same time, wouldn't you rather have a guy with the confidence to walk up to you and ask you out, and who thinks that a date with you is worth the risk of rejection?

No, he's scared. The fact that your friend told you that the guy likes you, means that your friend thinks the guy is alright. Go talk to him, because from the sounds of it, you won't meet him unless you do.

in all honesty, he probably wants to ask you out, but is to scared to say anything because he's afraid that you'll say no. it's hard to approach someone that you're really attracted to and start talking to them. so guys don't always have it so easy. he obviously thinks that you're beautiful, and is interested in you. so if you are interested in him, say hi, and give him a smile. maybe that will give him the encouragement he needs to get up the nerve to talk to you.
Best Wishes!

Sounds to me that he likes you. He is not playing you, if he were playing you he would have walked up to you and had a big ol chat, the fact that he hasnt done that makes me think he likes you a lot..

well i have been in this very same situation. and he played me. so maybe this guy is playing you. or maybe not. maybe he likes you and he is to shy to tell you. or he just doesn't know to do. give it time and if he doesn't make the move then u should make the move.

He's more than likely just shy. You should go strike up a conversation. Ask him what his plans are for the weekend!
