I am aware of the fact that not all Muslims are terrorists. The Qur'an does contain several verses that clearly endorse terrorism. I know this because I've been reading it for a persuasive research paper on the topic.

Just so you know, I've been reading it throughly. As of yet, I have not converted to Islam and do not plan to.

My opinion is just to read what the Quran says, and it will be obvious. As in the following:

Death for apostasy:
Sura 4:89: "They but wish that ye should reject Faith, as they do, and thus be on the same footing (as they): But take not friends from their ranks until they flee in the way of Allah (From what is forbidden). But if they turn renegades, seize them and slay them wherever ye find them; and (in any case) take no friends or helpers from their ranks.”

Kill Disbelievers in a cruel fashion:
Sura 5:33: "The punishment of those who wage war against Allah and His messenger and strive to make mischief in the land is that they should be murdered or crucified or their hands and their feet should be cut off on opposite sides or they should be imprisoned; this shall be as a disgrace for them in this world, and in the hereafter they will have an awful doom."

Slit throats of unbelievers:
Sura 47:4: "Now when ye meet in battle those who disbelieve, smite at their necks; until when you have overcome themm, bind a bond firmly (on them): thereafter (is the time for) either generosity or ransom: Until the war lays down its burdens. Thus (are ye commanded): but if it had been Allah's Will, He could certainly have exacted retribution from them (Himself); but (He lets you fight) in order to test you, some with others. But those who are slain in the Way of Allah,- He will never let their deeds be lost.

Amputation for petty theft:
Sura 5:38: "Cut off the hands of thieves, whether they are male or female, as punishment for what they have donea deterrent from God: God is almighty and wise."

Killing unbelievers:
Sura 9:123: "O ye who believe! fight the unbelievers who gird you about, and let them find firmness in you: and know that Allah is with those who fear Him."

Don't be friends with Jews or Christians:
Sura 5:51: "O ye who believe! Take not the Jews and the Christians for your allies and protectors: They are but allies and protectors to each other. And he amongst you that turns to them (for friendship) is of them. Verily Allah guideth not a people unjust."

Kill disbelievers:
Sura 2:191. "And slay them wherever ye catch them, and turn them out from where they have Turned you out; for tumult and oppression are worse than slaughter; but fight them not at the Sacred Mosque, unless they (first) fight you there; but if they fight you, slay them. Such is the reward of those who suppress faith."

Permission for a muslim man to beat his wife if she doesnt obey him:
Sura 4:34: “Men are the maintainers of women because Allah has made some of them to excel others and because they spend out of their property; the good women are therefore obedient, guarding the unseen as Allah has guarded; and (as to) those on whose part you fear desertion, admonish them, and leave them alone in their sleeping places and beat them; then if they obey you, do not seek a way against them; surely Allah is High, Great.”

"Allah is the enemy of the unbelievers." - Sura 2:98

"Kill them [unbelievers] wherever you find them. Fight with them until there is no persecution, and religion should be only for Allah." - Sura 2:191- 193

No just some people I would. We both know that every religion has a few bad apples; you know the over zealous ones. I don't know may be they have a chemical imbalance of some sort. I really can't say what their problem is. I believe it was found out after herexecution that Joan-of Arc suffered from a brain tumor. So what should we do round up these radicals and put them through a battery of tests? I would say the religion on the whole is not radical.
Even though you are right about those verses in the Quran. What was written was to go with the times and the people that it was meant for. Just remember times have changed and so should people's thinking.

No, Islam is not a radical religion.

"The Qur'an does contain several verses that clearly endorse terrorism."

No it doesn't contain any verses that endorse terrorism. It looks like you haven't done enough research. If you present this idea to your professor and if he knows what he's talking about, you won't get a good grade (if this is for school).

The world has totally forgotten that Christians kills more Jews and Moslems for the last 2000 years. Although I have no quarrel (not yet) with Christians and Jews in my country, but I wish the people to know the TRUTH before blatantly accuses the Moslems as “Terrorists”. During World War II, Jews were systematically kicked out from their property. Europeans (Christian White People obviously) were influenced to work together with the German Nazis to outcast the Jews. The Nazis propaganda will not work if there’s no support from the Christian people themselves. The Vatican although are not linked directly with the Nazis but, the German people do have a very close link to Christianity (that’s why the German Nazi’s Logo is a Black Cross). Even America (during WWII) doesn’t want to accept these Jews refugees. The only countries which accept these Jews refugees in large quantities are the middle-east countries (which are Islam-majority countries obviously). After WWII has ended, the Christians (Europe and America) still doesn’t want the Jews to return to their plundered houses in Europe (in reality the Christians should be thankful to Hitler) and so the Alliance (I spit on the floor) come out with a Master Plan; to shift the leftover Jews (Holocaust survivors) to Palestine and pass the ‘pest’ problem to the Moslems instead. The primary reason why America joined the WWII is because President Truman is a Jew! For your note; they were at least 6 MILLION Jews which were killed (or rapped, robbed etc.) by the Nazis (assisted by their fellow European Christian brothers and sisters) during the final days of the “Final Jews Solution”.

Further into the past, during the medieval days of the 11th Century, when Christians first set out to control Jerusalem (Baitulmuqaddis), they have endlessly slaughtered thousands of Moslems and Jews including women and children. The Christian famous ‘War’ Pope – Pope Benedict has initiated the FIRST Holy War against the Moslem for no good reason (in other words Christian’s first official madman “Jihad” version against the Moslem). This reign of terror which lasted for almost a century - the Holy War which was first initiated by the Christians was finally ended by one of the famous Moslem Jihad Warrior - Khalifah Salahuddin Ayubi (may Allah bless him). Sadly, up until today the killings never stop, the Christians has also recently initiated the Afghanistan and Iraqi “illegal” invasions, not to forget, the Vietnam War in the 70’s-80’s, the Korean War in the 60’s so who’s next on the wish list? North Korea and Iran?

I hope these short-history lesson answers your lame question. Who’s killing who? Who’s the first one to initiate the bloody confrontation? Who kills more human for the past 2000 years? Who carry out more MASS VIOLENCE for the pass 2000 years? Who's the real terrorists? I rest my case and may Allah bless all of us. -R.I.P.-

Every religion has their radicals. It wouldn't be fair to judge a religion by the few crazy ones.

Although I beg to differ on the Qur'an containing verses supporting terrorism. Many anti-Muslim propagandists try to use the worst translations possible to make it seem like they do. It also doesn't help that Arabic is a difficult language to translate.

It is just as radical as Christianity was during the Middle Ages and Inquisition.
All radicals are dangerous despite their faiths. Anyone who kills, maims, rapes, plunders, etc. others becuase of their faith are relligious fanatics. In today's sociery they are the Muslims. At one time they were the leftists. When Moraccans ruled Spain there was freedom of religion. When Ottomans ruled Europe they were able to preserve cultures of the ancients when Christians tried to destroy it authors such as: Pluto, Aristotle, Marcus, and the rest of the Greco-Roman philosphers.
So, yes Islam today is repeating the steps of the Middle Ages and hence they are radical.

Islam is a radical religion, the fact that some Muslims don't abide to the letter the word of the Koran, does not change the fact that the Koran teaches hatred and jihad (sorry, I wish I could say something different).

The Qur'an does not endorse terrorism. UC Berkeley is known as a radical university. That does not make it terrorist.

I agree yet exceptionally lots of the Muslims i meet are distinctly secular. i think of radical Islam only stems from political issues and hatred which varies with united states. yet I as quickly as heard in countries like Palestine people who're even secular work together in terrorist events(like suicide bombings..etc) yet in countries like Morocco(A muslim united states) donning the Hijab grew to become into banned at a time(exceptionally)

"clearly endorse terrorism" where did you get that idea from? may be you did not read it correctly.

"persuasive research paper", I wish I could have found such paper when I were doing my graduate work.

I feel that your question is an attempt to pass on your prejudice as facts
