Dont feel the tub with water. just set him in and let him get use to it. then introduce the water as if it was a drinking bowl. THen slowly pour the water over him and let him get used to the water being him. This is how I got my dogs to love the water and now they always jump in the tub with me. good luck

Try using a wash cloth and pail of water...avoiding the tub. It would probably be best to avoid fearful things right now as the dog has just gone through something tramatic. There are also wet naps that they sell in pet stores that you can use. Once the dog is all better then you can start training the fear of tubs outta him.

I do not like putting a dog in something that makes them claustrophobic, or unable to get out. I had a 134lb.bull mastiff ridgeback mix, and obviously he was too big for a tub, and I found the easiest way was to tie him up, with a long leed, then use a nice pail of warm water, and his shampoo, and wash him outside. He just loved it, and I would do the same thing when I rinsed him off, then towel dry him. He loved it, and if it was cold outside, I would bring him inside, he would go right to his bed and good night. The dog knew when it was bath time, and he was easy to train, because after his bath, he always got a treat, and it made him feel so good. Well, good luck.............

Our little canine we saved type the protect has a group of issues and for the longest time she might want to run and canopy even as it got here time for a bathtub. well being problems with hers= blind in a unmarried eye very small canine about 12 and a million/2 pounds one of her legs has a bone that stands proud and she or he being an older canine has arthritis And her en-gill sacks replenish and performance to be wiped clean once a month How I got here to a answer. i purchased an adjustable bathe nossel with a lengthy flex in a position hose to position in quite than the bathe nossel interior the tub bathtub. Then I had to get the vet to point a genteler cleansing soap to usebecause she also has senseative epidermis. i positioned a rubber non-slip mat interior the tub so she might want to have sturdy positive footing I had to how one can be very carefull washing and rinsing round her eyes nostril and ears. I also had to be truly wide awake of her leg. Then I replaced my attatude in course of giving her a bathtub, I grew to change right into a bathtub right into a blinding warmth, gentel rubdown consultation. What has surpassed off= She now determines even as she desires a bathtub and she or he will practice me the position the tub bathtub is. this is astonishing she has a miles more effective powerful experience of scent than I do and she or he might want to quite have a bathtub a lot previous to I had ever theory-about giving her a bathtub. the reason your canine does no longer like the water hose is the water is a lengthy way too chilly. P.S. do not sling your canine round getting it to the lavatory for a bathtub that scares them.

you can go to the pet store and purchase something called dry bath where you rub it on the dog and comb him out and it works as well as giving him a bath.
