I'm fascinated by perspective. The cages of realities we live in change as we continue the process of sensing our ways through reality. We call radical changes like this a paradigm shift. When we develop the ability to see from the eyes of a member of such an alien culture as any of the many Arab factions, tribes, families, and the many dialects and languages and forms of religiosity. The majority of the populations of the mostly barren war mired parts of an oil-wealthy middle East do not live any life we might recognize. From the poorest to the most wealthy, it would be hard for me to understand what it is to be an Iranian, even one of a similar class, of which there are many, but throw in all the internal conflict, the decimation of the Iraqi government, army, police, and the economic conditions of war, and the limitations such a thing puts on ones liberties. When America suffers a catastrophe it is the Army and the Navy and the Coast guart and national guard who feed us and house us and give us medicine. I'm sure most countries need these institutions to manage things. Peace and order are at the hands of an indiginous police and military. That is what keeps countries alive. We must accept that we will never be loved by the Islamic extremists, but that's only because the poor and the exploited, under educated, and unseen people of the world have to show the world their cause and they happen to be Islamic, so it's natural that the abused should use religion to strengthen their resolve in their pursuit of dignity and comfort. Islam reigns supreme in Africa and the middle East, Allah is God to most people in these areas. He is telling them that their poverty and wars are the result of our policies generated by greed. And they are fighting to keep those policies from dominating the planet. Too late

I don't understand what you're trying to say, exactly, except that it seems to be some attempt at sarcasm. All religions, especially the monotheistic ones and those that have got into bed with the local power structure, have waged bloody wars on other religions in order to 'convert' them - usually this meant conveniently taking their land and property as well. If you were to measure any one against another I'm not at all sure than any would stand up to scrutiny.

They deserved to be murdered? They were rightfully beheaded just because they didn't convert to your religion? I am opposed to the exhistence of the nation of Isreal too, but you're speaking like a mad man!
But to answer the question, it is fair to blame Islam for things done in the name of Islam. You can't do something for your religion unless you are going to accept recponcibility for your actions. I mean, if Islam isn't to blame for the things muslims do, who is?

How gruesome the way you seem to defend the murder of Jews. But it is typical of Islam, which preaches murder of "infidels." The shocking part is that you do not condemn such wanton terror.
Jihadists today invoke the Quran to justify the worst terrorist crimes. Throat slitting of infidels is mentioned in the Quran. Al-Mawardi (d. 1058), the prominent 11th century jurist quoted this verse, specifically, « When you encounter those who deny (the Truth) then strike (their) necks. » (Quran 47 :4), in his learned discussion of jihad. This ritual execution is also mentioned in other Muslim legal texts and in narratives of Christian and prominent Muslim historians. Today it is performed against infidels and recorded on videotape for the edification of Muslim audiences.
This must be condemned by all decent people, regardless of their religions.
As you say, Islamic terror is nothing new, just that westerners were unaware of it.

Just because something is a religion doesn't make in inherently good and more often than not the opposite is true. And yes, it is fair to blame Islam, and Christianity too, for the suffering they cause.

Quite frankly we Jews have suffered worse at the hands of Xtians like you than we have at the hands of Islam. I'm not a big fan of either, and the current Islamist extremists make me ill, but I have not forgotten the barbarism commited by Xtians torwards Jews. You have a lot of nerve casting stones at Islam unless you also condemn your heroes Like isabel, Ferdinand, numerous Popes, the Dominican order....etc. etc. etc.
Hitler sure wasn't a Muslim....he did have ties to Xtianity....including ties to the Vatican.

You have to sort out the cause and effect in that one. What is it about these "great and good" religions - including Islam and Christianity - that generates a bunch of raving mindless psychopaths? The religion, or the people who are attracted to religion?

The root of terrorism is the guy in the big black turban.
Direct descendants of Mohammad wear can wear the big black turban.
So then Mohammad is the root of terrorism, so you can say that Mohammad's religion is the root of terrorism.

I guess it isn't any more or less fair than blaming Christianity, which we all know to be itself good, for all the Christian war/genocide done for God.
