Dream on...Christianity has already withstood eras of science and logic and it still flourishes today. Something dynamic could occur, if only those of you anti-Christians would realize that there is a HUGE BLOCK of people out here who believe in science, who are of high intelligence and who do not accept the spouting and damnation of the fundamentalist fanatic Christians. No because I think that science and religion can go hand in hand. Science helps us to understand how things work. I mean without science we would not understand anything about the human body, we would not have medicine or anything else. But many times science is full of holes and is just hypothosis and theory's- that is where faith comes in, it fills in the blanks, and in many cases makes much more sense than science.

I mean lets look at the creation of the world, It really makes much more sense that somebody with a plan created this world with everything in it that works so perferctly- science tells us how it all works together- plants need oxygen to live, then they give off oxygen, it is this whole cycle. To me that makes much more sense then a big explosion and eveything just somehow, mysteriously working together so well.

I think that when done right science and religion go together perfectly. If the two groups would quit fighting that reality, then we would understand so much more and be so much farther ahead in our understanding of the world.

When did it get to be a war between Science and Religion? Science has it's own dirty secrets and roots, the black sheep in the family. It's own examples of genocide, intolerence and bigotry, lies, scandal, and all the wonderful things that make for juicy news.
Logic, meanwhile, is much like a loose woman, tickle them just right and they'll do anything (I heard this quote origionally used about statistics, but I think it equally applies to Logic).
Never forget that science and logic are tools created by man, nothing more, and nothing less, and it should be remembered that we use tools, not the other way around.

Science and logic have always been fundamental in true religion as is evidenced in scripture. It is peoples lazyness to subscribe to studying scripture and trying to understand the message which causes religious leaders to do things which do not stand up to logical scrutiny. On R&S it is not a forum which is actually open in a way that would be comfortable for the truly spiritual because people on here think being rude and cold wins the day, so a truly spiritual person enters with one hand tied behind their back.. In spite of this 2 of those atheists I consentrated on have become believers. So in my mind the Atheists community has decreased.

I would say it is a toss-up: those who value religion try to convert others through faith and argument, but the S and L group have little or no interest in truly arguing the subject, except to find words that seem aimed at forcing their own opinions on others. Very often the logic employed is baseless and refuses to take cognizance of points which it cannot find any means to refute.

In either case, there is no "winning" , as intransigence is the rule by which this game is played.

Science, Logic, Religion, and Spirituality have never been as distinctive as people like to claim. They all aim to explain the unexplained.

I hope so but given the questions showing up today, I don't think science, reason, and logic have really made that much progress.

No. I think people from all sides are beginning to realize it's a waste of time in here. Unless it's for purely entertainment purposes.

Peace!
Good question. I agree with you. It should not be. Probably because atheists are allowed in this section when they should be in the Philosophy or Humanities section. I would much rather prefer that we have psychologists here. I think more people will visit this section if we do that.
God bless

Not today. If anything I've seen an uptick in the number of creationist posts recently (although the flood posts do seem to be down).
