Your child, or loved one was going to be hit by a truck someday, and you definately knew this was going to happen, but you did not know when it was going to happen, would you warn them and tell them to never go out in the street, and to not step foot in a busy street?

I would warn them, but it's going to happen anyway. Like you said, "you definetely knew this was going to happen, but you did not know when it was going to happen". We can't stop things like that. They just happen.

What you're talking about is fate. No matter what I say or do to warn this person about their impending doom can't prevent it from happening ... because it's fate.

Sorry, but your religious metaphor is flawed simply for the fact that you DON'T know what's going to happen. No one does. If you knew what was going to happen, that would make you equal to God, and in Christianity, that's wrong. Also, seeing into the future is wrong, in Christianity, but that's exactly what the Bible supposedly does, you know telling of Rapture and all ... huh, I just realized that. Interesting.

Damn it! Chippy stole my argument!

I would tell them, but they would have to deal with that on their own. You can't hide from the world just cuz it's scary (or fatal). A life lived in fear wouldn't be worth it, really. You just can't avoid death.

I'd push them into the street at every opportunity.

I would keep them locked up in the basement. No car accident for them!

No, you can't. See the movies:"Final Destination" as to why. What you try to do to prevent it, may actually cause it.
