To know where to put deer crossing signs, you need reports of deer crossings in that area. Then, the city will know to put the signs there. This will warn people to look out for deer.

The game commissions for each individual state know where they pick up the most roadkill, because that is one of their duties. Also, You would obviously place them where you have state game lands, and popular hunting areas. This influx of people into the woods pushes the deer around, forcing them to cross main arteries(roadways)

Deer are animals that have habits , one of those is travelling regular routes in search of water , grazing areas , mates , they are also territorial so they patrol and defend their territory , mainly bucks in this case.(Bridget Alexis thought you might be anti hunting , I don`t see where she got that from .Relax!! Your over reacting.I am a hunter as well but don`t feel threatened by this question.)
