No, its not unusal, but I'd say its not to common either. The fact that its been eight months without him asking tells me that he's a very respectful man. Don't be affraid to ask him, or better yet surprise him and take the lead. Very sorry to hear that you were raped, I hope the moron who did it is in jail.

this is not unusual at all ..... you should just (how do you say?) induce the sex yourself if you are ready .... this guy has not said anything about wanting to?then keep this guy because he respects you and the things you have endured

Well if you're okay with it, thean yes you should tell him. He's being considerate of your feelings, which is a great thing he sounds like a good guy. Let him know how you feel.

8 months with no sex? THAT is unusual. I'd say it's long overdue. I would bring it up (no pun intended).

you should talk to him and see if he is ready...what he went through can be very stressful on that part of a relationship...but just sit down and talk I'm sure ya'll will come to an agreement

Again?? No, your boyfriend has higher standards, more morals, and a better character than you do. Why don't you try to rise to his level, instead of hoping to bring him down to yours?

i wouldnt say that it is unusual for you to want to engage in sexual activities before your partner...but i dont think that you should pressure your partner into having sex before he is ready...just as you wouldnt want him to be pressuring you...
