my mum has sent me an essay but I dont know which program she created and saved it in...any ideas how I can encrtpt and print this document...how can I find out which program she created it with?

ok what is the file normally something like xlc.exe whatever it says eg xlc go search for xlc viewer you can get programs to open files the name of the file should be in the email .
If its a zip file you need winzip to open it.
or cant you just ring your mum and ask what program she had used.

right-click the file and select properties. look for the file extension then go to the link below to see what program it opens with.

It would help to know the file extension.
If there was text in it, try renameing the file with .txt at the end.
